West Ham crush Liverpool 3-1
Liverpool suffered a shock 3-1 loss to West Ham on Saturday away from home. Brendan Rodgers's side were 2-0 down inside 7 minutes of play at Upton Park.
Poor defending by Liverpool, who suffered their 3rd loss in 5th game this season, saw Winston Reid turning the ball in to put the Home side 1-0 up in the 2nd minute.
The Hammers doubled their lead Diafra Sakho's cross beat everyone, including Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet in the 7th minute.
It was poor defending which cost Liverpool the title last season as they eventually finished runners-up to Man City.
However, the attacking force was on display as winger Raheem Sterling pulled a goal back with an unstoppable shot from inside the box in the 26th minute after Mario Balotelli's initial effort was blocked.
Substitute Morgan Amalfitano made the scoreline totally in favour of West Ham side in the 88th minute when he guided home Stewart Downing's through-ball.

The news comes as a shock 2 weeks after Liverpool Manager Brendan Rogers' statement of not making any kind of bid for the 24-year-old controversial Italian.
This comes off as a big boost for the Liverpool line-up, frustrated after not being able to land a big name move in place of Luis Suarez. Earlier during the Reds' tour of USA, Rogers stated "I can categorically tell you that he will not be coming to Liverpool." referring to Balotelli.
Balotelli scored 16 goals for Milan last season, as well as the winner in Italy's World Cup opener against England in Manaus.

Van Gaal wins first Silverware as Man Utd Manager
Manchester United fly home on Tuesday having been unbeaten in their 5-game tour to America under the new Manager Louis Van Gaal.
It was rather a "friendly" match but still the final of International Cup. Liverpool put their best foot forward in the first half that saw Raheem Sterling's dynamic & twisting runs early on, who was brought down by Phil Jones with Gerrard converting the penalty.
This was Gerrard's 10th goal against Manchester United, the most by any player against them.
Rooney scored the equalizer for United in the 2nd-half with a nice little finish early on while Juan Mata deflected one to put his side ahead.
There seemed to be some sort of confusion in the 2nd-half, Rooney slotted home after the ball seemed to hit the crossbar
The goal was awarded initially, but replays showed clearly that the ball hit the stanchion and was out of play. And thus, the goal was ruled out by the refree as per the instructions given by the linesman.
Jesse Lingard rounded off the triumph with a fine finish late on to make the score 3-1.

The competition consists of 8 European teams divided into 2 groups, the Winners from each group face-off in Monday's Final.
Liverpool beat AC Milan 2-0 to finish on 8 points on top of Group B.
Joe Allen opened the scoring in the 17th Minute for the Reds.
Liverpool were awarded a Penalty when Raheem Sterling was fouled but Ricky Lambert failed to convert.
The 2nd half was very slow paced but saw Suso seal the victory for the Reds in the 89th Minute at North Carolina.
Earlier, Ashley Young scored twice along with Hernandez as Manchester United beat Real Madrid 3-1 on Saturday to reach final.

Reus turns down new contract with Dortmund
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has turned down a new contract with Borussia Dortmund.
However Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp stays adamant that none of the 2 German Internationals do not want to leave. Earlier Manchester United were courting for Mats Hummels & now for Marco Reus with Liverpool just looking to edge them out in case of Reus.
Reus had turned down a new offer from Dortmund as his current contract expires in 2017, claimed German Newspaper Bild.
Meanwhile, Shinji Kagawa may head back to old club Dortmund after he failed to shine at Manchester United.

England Captain Gerrard retires from International Football
London: England football captain Steven Gerrard announced his retirement from international stage on Monday.
The Liverpool midfielder who won 114 caps for England after making his debut in a 2-0 victory over Ukraine at Wembley in 2000.
"I have enjoyed every minute of representing my country, and it is a sad day for me knowing that I won't pull on the England shirt again," he told the FA's website.
Last month at the World Cup was the 6th time he represented England at a major tournament, but it ended disappointingly as Roy Hodgson's side crashed out at the group stage.
Gerrard appeared to be particularly disappointed after the 2-1 defeat by Uruguay, when a misjudged header by him allowed Suarez to score the late winner.
The 34-year-old said he was retiring from internationals to ensure he can keep playing at a high level for Liverpool FC.
"I'd like to firstly thank my family and friends for all their support throughout my England journey," Gerrard said.
"In particular, the supporters have been amazing, not least in Brazil, when they got behind the team despite the disappointing results.
"I'd especially like to thank Roy (Hodgson), firstly for giving me the captaincy permanently when he took the job, making me the proudest man in the country and allowing me to fulfill my childhood dream.
"He has been very understanding over the past few weeks and is a man I will always hold in the highest regard.
"This has been a very difficult decision, one of the toughest I've had to make in my career. I have agonised over this since coming back from Brazil and have spoken to family, friends and people close to me in the game before coming to this point.
"Most importantly, Brendan (Rodgers, Liverpool manager) has been fantastic and obviously I have to look after my body as much as possible to ensure I can give everything when I take to the field.
"To ensure I can keep playing to a high level and giving everything to Liverpool, I believe this is the right decision, and having Champions League football back at Anfield is another big factor in my decision."
Hodgson told the FA: "While I'm disappointed in the decision, I can entirely understand Steven's situation and can have no complaints given the incredible service he has given to his country.
"I must respect his wishes due to the discussions we have had and the amount of thought and consideration he himself has given it.
"He is an incredible man and a fantastic footballer who we have all been blessed to see in an England shirt so often.
"It is never by coincidence that people reach such a staggering figure as 114 caps - it is a mark of his wonderful talent allied to a huge drive and determination to live up to the highest standard.
"He is not only a player to bring crowds to their feet with moments of brilliance; he was a tremendous captain and an exceptional role model for everyone who was fortunate to come into contact with him.
"We shall miss his leadership qualities as we look ahead to the qualification campaign (for Euro 2016) with a youthful group of players."
Gerrard captained England 38 times, scored 21 goals for his country, and was the third most capped England player of all time behind Peter Shilton (125) and David Beckham (115).
Suarez signs with Barcelona
Since joining Liverpool from Ajax for £22.7m in 2011, Suarez had made no secret of his desire to play in Spain at some point. Reds director of football Damien Comolli had warned then-manager Kenny Dalglish shortly after Liverpool signed him; Suarez had told players and staff. It was an open secret.
2013-14 had been a season in which he had repaired some of the damage he had done to his reputation over three controversial years in England. His deep feeling for Liverpool and its fans was intact, even if the same could not be said of his view of the British media.
Not only had he inspired Liverpool to heights of which few had thought them capable, he had been the clear choice for the player of the year awards given by both the Professional Footballers' Association and the Football Writers' Association.
But what was on his mind - and had been for some time - was the chance of a career-defining move to Real Madrid or Barcelona.
Senior figures at Liverpool were aware that an offer from either of the two Spanish giants would give them a problem.
Last summer, Barcelona bought Neymar from Brazilian side Santos for about £49m and Real signed Gareth Bale from Spurs for a world-record £85m. There had long been a feeling that, this summer, Suarez was high on both their lists. The La Liga pair were top of his.
