Commonwealth Games 2014: Day 11 Results, Recap and Updated Medal Table
Glasgow: England finished on top of the Medal Tally in the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014. It was their first time after 28 long years. But the former table-toppers Australia also had some consolation wins.

As soon as the Day started, England were already going to stay at No.1 position, dethroning Australia.

The last day had just 11 Gold Medals on the line. Lizzie Armitstead bagged the first gold for England in the women`s cycling road race upgrading her performance 4 years ago in New Dehli.


Fellow English rider Emma Pooley finished 25 seconds behind to finish second and add to the silver she won in the time trial.

Geraint Thomas from Wales won gold in the men`s 168km road race.

Thomas, thrived despite having a puncture with 6km still to go to finish in a time of 4 hours 13 minutes & 5 seconds.


Australia yet again thumped India 4-0 in mens hockey final to win a 5th consecutive Commonwealth title, & later finished 1st in netball with a 58-40 win over the Kiwis, who beat them 4 years ago.

Kashyap Parupalli from India was a popular winner in the men`s singles title in Badminton as he beat Derek Wong of Singapore in a three-game classic to win gold.

"I`m so happy," said the 27-year-old Indian. "This championship means such a lot to me. These Games come every four years and that`s what drove me on."
