Discuss Thrower Vikas Gowda clinched a Gold Medal for India in athletics after 56 years.
Wrestlers Yogeshwar Dutt & Babita Kumari also tasted Gold along with Geetika Jhakar & Pawan Kumar who bagges a Silver & a Bronze each.

Gowda upgraded his Silver medal from the 2010 Games, finishing with a best attempt of 63.64m on 1st place, 56 years after the legendary Milkha Singh's golden run in the 440 yards at Cardiff Games.

London 2012 Olympics bronze medallist wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt beat Jevon Balfour of Canada in men's freestyle 65kg category final. He was awarded the bout due to technical superiority after he took a 10-0 lead within 1 minutes 53 seconds of the 1st period.

Babita also upgraded her Silver medal from 2010 Games. She won with a scoreline of 9-2 against the 32-year-old Brittanee from Canada.

Grappler Geetika Jhakar had to settle for Silver as she lost 7-0 to Canada's Danielle Lappage in women's 63kg freestyle category.

Earlier, Wrestler Pawan Kumar scored a comeback victory over Pakistan's Muhammad Inam to clinch the bronze medal in men's freestlye 86kg category. Both were tied at 6-6 but Pawan was adjudged the winner since he scored the last point.
